Mark Wait Funerals is a well-respected, independent funeral service that has been supporting families across the North East for over 41 years. Deeply rooted in the local community, Mark and his team are known for providing thoughtful guidance and genuine care during some of life’s most difficult times. As the business has grown, so too has its story — and that journey needed to be reflected in a refined and more representative online presence.


When we first partnered with Mark, he came to us with a clear and considered vision. He wanted to move away from the traditional, sombre style typically associated with funeral directors’ websites. Instead, he was determined to create a welcoming and uplifting digital experience — one that would offer reassurance, reflect the warmth of his service, and celebrate life rather than focusing solely on loss. That vision guided the first edition of the website, helping to establish a strong, approachable online presence and increase meaningful enquiries.
Since then, the business has expanded to two branches and has become even more of a family affair, with Mark’s wife and two children now part of the team. With this growth came the need for a second edition of the website — one that could accommodate a broader range of services and, more importantly, tell the full story of the family behind the business. Our role was to evolve the website in a way that preserved its original warmth, while communicating the maturity, professionalism, and heart of the company as it stands today.
We updated the design to remain light, calming, and accessible, with a user experience tailored to those who may be visiting during an emotional or time-sensitive moment. The updated site showcases the expanded team and locations, introduces more flexibility across pages, and features clear calls to action that gently guide visitors towards making contact. With responsive development across all devices and ongoing conversion-focused improvements, the digital experience now mirrors the clarity and care Mark and his family provide in person.
In addition to design and development, we’ve also supported Mark Wait Funerals with their digital marketing efforts. Since launching their initial site and strategy, the company has seen a notable increase in website traffic and customer engagement — contributing to the successful growth of the business. Today, their website continues to be a key driver in connecting with new families who need support.
